Welcome!
At Catherwood, our priority is quality child care. We make it our job to help families, either new or established in the community, obtain information on area resources that may be beneficial to them. Established in 2000, we’re a 16 room, 7,200 square foot home located at 707 4th St. N.W., in Austin. The home was built in the late 1800s by Sam Catherwood, a prominent attorney and the first Chairman of the Board of the Hormel Foundation. Catherwood Home was designed to provide non-traditional child care services and in 2016 regularly opened at 5am and closed as late as 11pm. Parents appreciate the flexibility Catherwood can offer them when they need child care for varying days and varying daily time schedules. Transportation to and from all Austin kindergarten and elementary schools is available to the children in Catherwood care.

The “Family Care” Philosophy
At Catherwood, our priority is quality child care. But, we know that as professional providers, we can be of great assistance to our families in a number of areas.
We make it our job to help families, either new or established in the community, obtain information on area resources that may be beneficial to them, such as child care assistance (CCA), immunizations, energy assistance, etc.
About Catherwood
Catherwood Home Child Care is owned, operated, and staffed by the Parenting Resource Center, Inc.
Catherwood grew out of collaboration with local employers and community leaders who identified that bi-lingual, and non-standard care hours were barriers for employees.
Established in March, 2000, Catherwood provides typical and non-standard child care hours to our employer partners and the public sector.
